As Miss New Jersey 2015, Lindsey Giannini serves as a positive role model and ambassador for the State of New Jersey. Lindsey is a regular speaker throughout New Jersey to schools, municipal governments, police, and law enforcement officials. Her multiple appearances and testimony before the New Jersey State Senate and State Assembly has led to legislative changes that benefit all New Jersey residents.
As co-founder of the non-profit 501(c)3 organization PADD (People Against Distracted Driving), Lindsey passionately advocates and educates by “Raising the Awareness of the Dangers of Distracted Driving”. She takes great pride in the fact that hundreds of her self-designed permanent “Stay Alive… don’t text and drive” street signs have already been installed or are scheduled for installation throughout New Jersey around schools, parks, neighborhoods, and businesses. With her organization PADD expanding nationally, Lindsey is regularly featured in television and print news articles showcasing her significant lifesaving initiative. Her Distracted Driving Awareness effort has earned her the formal endorsement of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Lindsey attends Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Miss Giannini is a Dean’s List student, a featured journalist for the University newspaper, The Whit, and has appeared regularly as an on-air personality for Rowan Radio - 89.7FM. Lindsey is pursuing a career as an on-air television personality and strives to ultimately secure an association with such well-known media outlets as Entertainment Tonight or E! Entertainment Television. Her love for the art of food preparation and presentation also causes her to hope to one day appear as a guest judge on one of Food Network’s television cooking competition programs.
An accomplished dancer who has studied since the age of 3, Lindsey has been trained in numerous styles of dance including jazz, lyrical, ballet, and modern. Miss Giannini is a former professional Ballroom Dance instructor and choreographer. She specialized in teaching the waltz, salsa, rumba, tango and fox trot to her students who range from ages 9 to 90 years old. Her commitment to fitness and health serves as a model example to both young and old.
With a steadfast commitment to her community, Lindsey is an active ambassador and fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the national platform of the Miss America Organization. She also regularly volunteers as a dance instructor and performer for senior citizens and the underprivileged throughout New Jersey. She is a volunteer instructor for the Actor’s Caravan Theatre Group where she teaches stage presence, poise, and dance to aspiring young actors. Miss Giannini’s other community service work includes volunteer coach/choreographer at High School Cheerleading camps as well as frequent visits to US military veterans and local hospitals, collecting food and clothing for those in need and Hurricane Sandy Relief.
